Listen, structure, make visible: that is Graphic Recording

As a Graphic Recorder you will visualize contents from presentations and discussions in order to reflect these in the dialogue process. In this advanced training, you will discover how consultants, knowledge distributors, coaches, and facilitators can use graphic recording techniques for their business. You will become trained in listening to, structuring and drawing content – and will practise visual documentation using different formats and presentation techniques.

This training is a module of the bikablo Visual Facilitator Curriculum, our certificate training to become a visual process facilitator in 4-6 three-day modules, also bookable individually.
At the moment 3 of the 6 modules are offered in English.

Here you will find information about the entire curriculum.

What does a graphic recorder do - and can I learn how to do it?

Graphic Recording is the best-known form of visualization for organizational development and (large group) conferences. The Graphic Recorder works on small formats or murals, on paper or using digital media, in the background or in real-time on the projector screen.

Worldwide, this fascinating method is becoming increasingly popular – and learning it opens up exciting application opportunities for all who work with groups and organizations. bikablo is a pioneer of Graphic Recording in Europe. Take advantage of our wealth of experience!

This training is aimed at those who might not aspire to become professional Graphic Recorders but who simply wish to use the potential of visual real-time documentation in training courses, process monitoring, mediation, or coaching.

Trainers

The content of the training

Day1 – Day 3: 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm (CET)(CEST) Training
Day 4: 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm (CET)(CEST) Follow up

New drawing techniques for figures: Step by step, you will learn to express feelings and depict situations using speech bubbles, pictograms, and the bikablo emotions figures. In addition, you can look forward to new techniques to make your figures come alive with more facial expressions and personality.

Process comics: You will look at the basic rules and elements of comics and learn to present instructions, processes, or individual steps as narrative picture sequences – in two, three, four, or more images!

“Big pictures”: Using overlapping and stacked perspective drawing techniques, as well as text and color, you will create large-scale poster designs that allow complex knowledge to be presented in a clear way.

From content to design: Step by step, you will deconstruct “dry” topics, find lead characters and image metaphors and reconstruct the topic as a dramatic visual story.

Narrative presentation: You will transform presentations into lively narratives, develop a dramatic composition, while drawing in real-time and actively involving your audience.

You are facing the challenge of communicating complex topics well, e.g. in your professional capacity as a lecturer, consultant, or manager.

You are looking for an accessible and lively way how to present your core message, strategies, and topics that are close to your heart.

You have already attended a bikablo basics training (or similar) and would like to further develop your skills as a Visual Facilitator.

Documentation: Following the training, we will provide digital photo documentation with all the input from the trainers and the results of the group.

Handout: You will also receive a digital handout with a wealth of specialist, in-depth material on the training topic.

bikablo online community: You will receive an invitation to join our alumni community with a pictogram library and a knowledge database of literature, links, tools, and software. In the forum, members can exchange ideas on visualization topics, share their own icons, and receive feedback and advice on their designs.
